Elipar FreeLight 2 is a cordless LED curing light. It has a higher intensity compared to the original Elipar FreeLight 1. The light intensity is about 1000 mW/cm2 with an emission spectrum between 430-480 nm. The peak output is about 460 nm, corresponding to camphorquinone absorption. Preset cure times of 5-, 10-, 15- and 20-seconds can be selected with a single button on the curing light. Audible signals indicate operational functions and the charging status. The unit utilizes a heat sink instead of a fan to dissipate heat, resulting in silent operation. The unit allows for four minutes of continuous curing before shutting down to cool. Battery life between charges produces approximately 60 cycles of 20-second cures. The curing light weighs about 227 g (8 oz) and has an angled light guide. It can be wipe-disinfected as there are no ventilation slits or protruding buttons. Elipar FreeLight 2 is packaged with the curing unit and charging base, a large light shield, turbo light guide (8 mm) and table holder to prevent the unit from rolling off the counter. Eight consultants used Elipar FreeLight 2 in 410 clinical cases during a three-month evaluation period. This product received a 94% clinical rating.
