Profluorid Varnish is a 5% sodium fluoride varnish for surface application to enamel and dentin. It is designed to adhere to wet surfaces and be tolerant of moisture and saliva. It is indicated for use in treatment of hypersensitive teeth, sealing the dentinal tubules for cavity preparations, on sensitive root surfaces, and as a cavity liner under amalgam restorations. Profluorid Varnish is melon flavored, and is available in a 50-count box of sealed, single-dose packets with applicator brush. Adult (0.4 ml) and child (0.25 ml) doses are available. Twenty-seven consultants evaluated Profluorid Varnish in over 500 clinical cases. This fluoride varnish received an 86% clinical rating.
