Dr. Blitzer is a 1977 graduate from Temple University School of Dentistry. He received his certificate in Prosthodontics in 1979, also from Temple University.
He was the Advanced Prosthodontics Clinical Course Co- Director and an Associate Professor of Prosthodontics at Temple University School of Dentistry until 1995, when he left Temple to become the Director of Clinical Research at the Caulk Division of Dentsply International. He served as Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Dentistry at UMAB. He currently serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania.
As the only Prosthodontist in the southern 2/3 of the state of Delaware, he is often called upon for the fabrication of speech prostheses after partial glossectomy, as well as palatal obturators. Screening for Gerd, as well as oral cancer screenings are mandatory in his practice, as early detection is most likely to be accomplished in the dental environment. He was the 2010 recipient of the President’s Citation from the American Bronchio-Esophageological Association.
Over the past 30 years, Dr. Blitzer has lectured both nationally and internationally, and has been a consultant for several dental manufacturers here and abroad. Recently, he was appointed as the Senior Editor of “Catapult Your Practice!” the e-journal of Dental Team Concepts. He has maintained an active practice of Prosthodontics, advanced restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry in the Delaware Valley, (PA, NJ, and DE) and is currently practicing in Milford, DE. |
