Presenter Bio
Kandis Garland, RDH, MS Kandis Garland, RDH MS, is an educator, author, and speaker. Her career spans 23 years as a dental hygienist and educator where she served as Clinic Coordinator, and Health and Safety Coordinator. Kandis has been an active OSAP member serving on several committees and authoring a paper for OSAP/NIOSH. Garland received the OSAP Emerging Leader award in 2017. Ms. Garland served a five-year term on the American Dental Association Dental Hygiene National Board Test Construction Committee.

Ms. Garland’s research focuses on infection control and dental hygiene competency and has been published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene, the Journal of Dental Education, Dimensions of Dental Hygiene, Mentor Magazine, Decisions in Dentistry, and Access Magazine. She has presented her research at regional, national, and international meetings. Ms. Garland serves as a manuscript reviewer and also as an infection control “Ask the Expert” Columnist for Dimensions of Dental Hygiene. Kandis works as a clinical dental hygienist and also provides consulting services in infection control. She is a member of the Crosstex Luminary Council, provides infection control consulting services, and serves as an educational consultant for Tuttnauer.
