Technological Advancements in Direct Restorative Materials
Presenter: Dr. Bob Lowe
Credits:  1 CEU Release Date: 11/30/15
CE Supporter: VOCO America   Reviewed: 2018     Expiration Date: 11/30/21

In this informative CE webinar, Dr. Lowe will discuss one of the latest advancements in direct restorative dentistry. Ormocers (Organically Modified Ceramics) are restoratives that are based purely on silicon oxide in both the filler and the resin matrix without traditional Bis GMA monomers, making them the first ceramic based direct restorative material available to dental market. This innovative technology results in a composite material that has the lowest polymerization shrinkage (1.25% by volume) and shrinkage stress when compared to market standards. Case presentation will show universal application for anterior and posterior teeth, due to a perfect coordination of translucency and opacity that mimic natural tooth structure. The use of universal bonding agents will give the clinician a wide variety of choices in placement techniques, which will yield excellent clinical results for all direct restorative needs.

You will learn from this CE webinar:
• About a new, innovative technology in direct restorative materials (Ormocers) and how they can improve the quality and biocompatibility of direct tooth colored restorations.
• Placement and finishing techniques to create natural beauty in a direct restorative.
• How using universal bonding agents simplifies the process of adhesion and makes the results more predictable.   ( disclaimer, bio and commercial disclosure )
