A key aspect of this is to dramatically reduce stress on the adhesive materials so they can provide long-term use and durability for direct and indirect restorations. If clinical techniques have high-stress then the bonds will be low, conversely, if the clinical techniques have low-stress then the bonds will be high and more likely to succeed.
