There are two great stresses clinicians feel in dentistry: lack of time and clinical failure. They are intertwined and often inseparable. When we are running behind, we feel every tick of the clock which often temps us to cut corners to catch up with the schedule. The pressure to produce can be taxing. All of this centers on our clinical dentistry and the necessity for dependable, symptom free, consistent adhesion. There are steps we can take to minimize the wasted time associated with failure by knowing what to look for in our restorative materials and how best to use them. This CE webinar will focus on procedures we do every day, fillings and crowns, and getting the most clinical success possible with great clinical success resulting in less time re-doing things. The least pressure is to do it right the first time.
Corporate dentistry and the reduction in insurance reimbursement has forced most of use to become more efficient. We want to provide treatments that are a great long-term service for the patient but that are efficient for the office with nearly 100% clinical success. Proper preparation and cementation techniques are undeniably related to long term restoration success and the choice of materials is more critical than ever to meet these goals for indirect restorations. Zirconia has become popular because of its clinical acceptance and performance and this CE webinar will discuss the best techniques for routine cementation and for those times when maximum adhesion is necessary.
Upon completion of this CE webinar, the participant will review the following:
• Understanding the clinical differences in zirconia opacities, when, and why
• Choosing the correct type of zirconia with proper lab communication
• Regenerative cementation for durable, comfortable, aesthetic restorations
The quest for biofriendly, regenerative, durable, aesthetic restorations has come a long way in the last few years. We all seek materials that are easy to place with excellent clinical performance even when the oral environment is less than ideal. New regenerative materials not only offer clinical performance but also reduce bacterial microleakage while releasing the bio-stimulating ions calcium, phosphate, and fluoride.
In this CE webinar, we will discuss the trendy durable indirect esthetic materials featuring zirconia and lithium disilicate while focusing on clinical efficiency and long-term success by discussing the prep, cementation, bonding, and adjustments. CAD/CAM dentistry will be featured as well as clarification of luting materials emphasizing materials and protocol for maximum strength and clinical efficiency. “Universal” bonding agents will be discussed and when to use them in the luting protocol for long term durability. We will learn how to do it right the first time and to make the practice more enjoyable and efficient.
The trend today in dental adhesion is towards the universal bonding agent. These materials can give great bonds to both dentin and enamel while being versatile, tolerant, and dependable while minimizing the adhesion confusion. In this CE webinar, we will look at current state-of-the-art bonding systems and explore the role of the universal adhesive.
