The history and evolving development of ultrasonic instruments, ongoing science and information to facilitate the successful procedural applications of ultrasonics in your practice will be explored in a fun, upbeat interactive format.
Upon completion of this CE webinar, the student will have learned the following: • History and use of powered scaling in periodontal patient management. • The role of deposits and toxins in periodontal disease progression • Compare and discuss differences in ultrasonic units • Compare micro-ultrasonic scaling vs. manual. Which is optimal for creating an oral environment compatible with health resulting in the most thorough care? • Discuss and define the goals of periodontal debridement • Discuss the contradictions of manual as well as micro-ultrasonic instrumentation. • Hands on instruction with magnetostrictive, piezo equipment and inserts to develop clinical confidence • Increasing treatment productivity-ergonomic comfort reduces hand and body fatigue • Infection control for procedures and equipment care • Communication/demonstration techniques to insure that patients will ask for ultrasonic therapy.
