The goal of a responsible clinician is to provide his or her patients with functional, long lasting, and esthetically pleasing restorations, in the most conservative and bio-compatible fashion; direct composite restorations fulfills the ideal requirements mentioned above. When patients present with severe dental wear, dentin exposure or sensitivity caused by occlusal wear, restoring those teeth in a conservative manner is equally desirable. Too often the first choice of treatment is to further destroy already worn-out teeth by the use of traditional crown and bridge techniques. The use of a composite with excellent mechanical properties and wear characteristics is most desirable.
Rational and technique of restoring work dentition with composite will be discussed.
