Chances are that you are providing some form of Caries Risk Assessment in your practice, but if you are not recording it you are not getting the most out of this valuable tool. You know your patients’ oral health and habits better than anyone, but risk assessment is almost never taken through to completion. Quite often, we only get as far as offering patient education about toothpastes, rinses and dietary changes. Research shows that applying fluoride varnish 1-4 times a year dependent upon personalized risk can greatly reduce disease, but how do we decide who will benefit? Using simple questions and procedures, this course will take you from the waiting room, through the appointment, and even home with the patient to effectively reduce their chance of future decay. |
