With 80% of diabetics residing in the middle and lower socioeconomic American society, dental clinicians have the ability to make a difference in the life of these individuals. In 2020 there have been new CDT codes implemented to aid dental care workers to identify and help manage the oral systemic link of diabetes. This CE webinar will help identify the types, causes and treatments to provide the best care possible.
There are different ways to approach complete arch implant restorations in today's prosthetic dentistry. When screw-retained bridges are used for full-arch cases, getting a true passive fit with an IOS (Intra Oral Scanner) can be a challenge. On top of that, many dentists find it tricky to get a natural, comfortable inter-arch relationship. Dr. Philippe Nuytens will show some creative and appealing solutions to these issues. He'll show how to use new tools and scan bodies to create a digital workflow with IOS that works for a complete arch implant rehabilitation. The goal is to get a fit that's both passive and retrievable with a great aesthetic result. Dr. Philippe Nuytens will focus at a ‘full digital bite registration’ on implants, sharing his own experience with many clinical cases. He also discusses the biological aspects of a new multi-unit system that influence the design of restorations. Plus, he presents solutions for predictable and aesthetic immediate loading in the complete implant arch.
Many dental professionals have reverted back to practices from before the COVID pandemic. But is this a best practice for respiratory protection? Peri-implantitis is currently the most common cause of implant failure after osseointegration failures. Peri-implantitis and the precursor condition, Peri-implant mucositis, is preventable with appropriate patient and clinical maintenance protocols. Systematic reviews recently published by our laboratories (Temple University) indicate that the prevalence of peri-implantitis may be as high as 66%. Proper implant maintenance protocols should be initiated at implant treatment planning and reinforced with patients at each successive post operative appointment. Current strategies for implant maintenance include recognition of medical and medication risk factors impacting on bone loss around implants as well as in office maintenance procedures coupled with optimizing patient home care. This CE webinar will present current data illustrating preventive strategies for peri-implantitis.
