A number of treatment modalities have been reported to accelerate orthodontic tooth movement, including the use of adjunctive pulsatile forces (vibration) during orthodontic treatment. However, the scientific evidence for clinical effectiveness of the use of vibration has been limited until recently. In this CE webinar, Dr. Pavlin will discuss the currently available evidence to support accelerated orthodontic treatment and review the progression of published research that substantiates claims for faster tooth movement with application of pulsatile forces. Dr. Pavlin will also present results from a double-blind, randomized control trial “Cyclic loading (vibration) accelerates tooth movement in orthodontic patients”, which was recently published in the Seminars in Orthodontics. In addition, specific topics related to safety of the AcceleDent device and benefits for patients’ comfort and treatment efficiency will be discussed. ( disclaimer, bio and commercial disclosure ) |
